Chef Peter Ambrose

HAMPTONS #1 FOODIE

There are others with elaborate culinary pedigrees and those who aim for a more refined dish, yet few are as naturally tuned for flavor. Peter Ambrose's remarkable organic talents for pairing flavors and textures has garnered him the moniker as Hamptons #1 Foodie.

As a teenager he spent four days a week working at the Seafood Shop in Wainscott scaling fish and cleaning mussels, calamari and shrimp.  Building his craft and know-how at the briny end of the of prep table, he continued to work summers through college. By graduation from Cortland in 2001, Peter figured he'd go the suit-and-tie route like all the other young graduates, hoping it would  eventually get to feeling right. Luckily his dad recognized his son's culinary talents and offered him an alternative to the 9-to-5, running his clambake business.

It wasn't long before Peter began to put his personal touch on the operation, expanding it to new heights and expectations. In three short years a full course catering company was spawned. And by 2004 Peter's summer-inspired menus and spirited cocktails were the parties of choice. Cocktail parties, event catering and weddings soon followed. Now 14 years and counting, the rest, as they say, is Hampton's history.

Endless Summer Events Catering

Peter Ambrose continues to reinvent regionally-inspired classics and flavor profiles that reflect the rich, cultural heritage that is The Hamptons today. From clambakes at the shores of the Atlantic to stirling weddings at our North and South Fork vineyards, Peter Ambrose delivers endless memories every time.

Dear Peter,
Thank you again for all your effort to make the dinner party on the 22nd a great success. All of the food was so beautiful and I’ve received rave reviews, especially for the tomato pie. I know that this time of year is insane for you and I so appreciate you working with me on all the tedious details. I am so glad to know you and have enjoyed our work together this summer.”
